Let's start upholstering!

As a test, we upholstered the front of the electric-box yesterday.

Test passed!

First, we held the leather to the sample, then drawn a mark with a pen, then stapled it at the back. Then I came to mind that there should be fleece underneath. So cut fabric, glued to the wood, leather and fabric pulled over the remarks, the nonwoven also needs a little space, and thus needs more leather, and because I have it stapled already there's not enough leatherette for the other side.So staples out, and the whole thing from scratch. But then it looked very confident in the end.

cutting done, kitchen cabinet as the first object.

And today, we have cut the complete artificial leather.

A little tip for you: When cutting the leather, ensure that you have not lying your plans under the leatherette. I cut my plans two times ...

measure it, angle mark, measure it again, believe in yourself, cut, hope, exhale measure it.

All well marked!

upholstering the kitchen cabinet

First, we wanted to upholster the kitchen cabinet. This needs 2 leather pieces. When trying on the first play the first shock: despite 3cm stalperzone on each side the part is 6cm too short on a side!

So measure it all: leather is cut according to plan properly, something in the theoretical design is still gone wrong ... But then the redemption: That was actually planned so I must have just a little more confidence in myself ;). The missing piece is actually not needed, because the cabinet is just pushed to the few inches into the tin walls ... sigh

OWL-all-purpose glue: unfortunately, fleece on lacquered wood is not "All"!

intermediate state, on the right you can see where the leather is too short (the fleece had the right size)
